Krista Barth

Veteran Advocate
Krista Barth has a background in education and advocacy, with a focus on helping struggling readers and supporting parents. Here is a condensed version of her work as an advocate:
Started as an advocate at Rosie’s Place Homeless Shelter in Boston in 2004, assisting illiterate women with writing and reading.
Worked in Miami Dade County Public Schools from 2006 to 2014, providing specialized instruction to students from kindergarten to eighth grade.
Earned a Master’s in Exceptional Student Education from Barry University in 2011.
Conducted research on the Response to Intervention program with Doctor Looby of Barry University.
Experienced in creating and implementing Individual Educational Plans (IEPs), having worked on over two thousand plans.
Completed special education advocacy training at William and Mary Law School in 2016 and 2017.
Member of the Council of Parents Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA) and attended related conferences and training sessions.
